Use Claude to Manage Your Billing
Connect Claude to AgentInvoice and let AI handle the invoicing work while you focus on the actual work
AgentInvoice connects to Claude via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — which means Claude can actually do things in your account, not just give you advice about how to do them yourself.
Once connected, you can describe what you need in plain English and Claude handles the rest: creating invoices, pulling up overdue accounts, setting up recurring schedules, and sending to clients.
Connect Claude in two minutes
Claude.ai (easiest — no API key needed):
- Go to Claude.ai → Settings → Connectors
- Click Add connector and enter

- Done — AgentInvoice tools are now available in every Claude conversation

What you can ask Claude to do
Create invoices in seconds
No forms, no clicking through dropdowns. Just describe the work:
"Invoice Acme Corp for 12 hours of UX design at $140/hr and 3 hours of client calls at $100/hr. Due in 30 days."
"Create a $4,500 invoice for Meridian Group for the brand identity project we just wrapped up. Add a note: 'Final payment per project agreement dated March 1.'"
"Create the same monthly retainer invoice I did for Opal Studio last month."
Claude reads your existing clients and previous invoices to get details right — you don't need to repeat information it can look up.
Get a picture of your finances instantly
"What's my total outstanding across all clients?"
"Who owes me money right now and how long have those invoices been open?"
"How much did I invoice in Q1 versus Q4 last year?"
"Give me a summary of everything paid and unpaid this month."
Chase overdue invoices without the awkwardness
"Which invoices are overdue? For each one, tell me the client, amount, and how many days late."
"Resend all overdue invoices with a subject line that acknowledges it's a follow-up."
Set up recurring billing
"Set up a recurring invoice for Studio North — $3,000/month for ongoing design services, starting the 1st of next month."
"I have four retainer clients all on monthly billing. Show me their current recurring schedules and flag any that are coming up for renewal."
Handle estimates
"Draft an estimate for TechFlow Inc: discovery workshop ($1,500), wireframes for 5 screens ($2,200), and a prototype ($3,800). Valid for 30 days."
"Did Coastal Brands accept the estimate I sent last week? If so, convert it to an invoice."
Power workflows with other Claude connectors
Claude becomes genuinely powerful when AgentInvoice is connected alongside other tools. Claude.ai lets you connect multiple services, and Claude can act across all of them in a single conversation.
With Google Drive or Notion
Connect your Google Drive or Notion workspace and Claude can read your project docs, SOWs, or notes to build invoices without you re-entering anything:
"Open the project scope doc in my Drive for the Henderson website project and create a draft invoice for all the deliverables we marked as complete."
"I have a Notion database of billable work for this month. Read it and create invoices for each client who has completed items."
With Gmail
Connect Gmail and let Claude turn email threads into billable work:
"Read my email thread with Jamie at Bluerock about the logo revisions and create an estimate based on what we discussed."
"Find any emails from clients in the last 7 days where they approved work or gave a go-ahead, and create draft invoices for each one."
With Google Calendar
Connect Google Calendar and invoice based on time actually logged:
"Look at my calendar for last week. For any events tagged as billable with Ridgeline Partners, create a time-based invoice at my standard $125/hr rate."
"Create a monthly invoice for all 'Consulting — Vantage' events in March."
With GitHub
Connect GitHub and bill clients based on delivered work:
"List all PRs merged to the client-portal branch in March and create an invoice for 2 hours per PR at $150/hr."
"The v2.1.0 milestone just closed. Create an invoice to Northgate Software for the milestone deliverable — $8,000 as agreed."
With Fireflies or Fathom
Connect your meeting recorder and turn client conversations into estimates or invoices automatically — no manual note-taking required:
"Read the Fireflies transcript from my discovery call with Harlow Creative today and draft a project estimate based on the scope we discussed."
"I just finished a kickoff call with Dune Media. Pull the Fathom summary and create an invoice for the strategy session — 2 hours at $200/hr."
"Find all Fireflies transcripts from the past month where a client approved work or mentioned a budget, and create draft invoices for each one."
This is particularly useful after prospect calls — Claude can identify what was agreed, pull pricing from your previous invoices with that client, and have a draft ready before you've even closed your laptop.
End-of-month billing in one go
With a few connectors combined, an entire billing run becomes a single conversation:
"It's the end of the month. Check my calendar and Notion timesheet, create invoices for all billable work across all clients, then show me a summary before I send anything."
Claude will draft everything, show you a review, and only send after you confirm.
Tips for working with Claude on billing
Be specific about clients. Claude can look up clients by name, so "invoice Acme" works — but if you have multiple clients with similar names, use the full name.
Ask Claude to review before sending. For any invoice that involves math or line items pulled from notes, say "show me the draft before you send it." Claude will create and finalize the invoice but wait for your confirmation.
Use Claude to catch mistakes. "List all invoices created this month and flag any that look unusual — wrong amounts, missing line items, or clients I don't normally invoice."
Build routines. Once you find prompts that work for your business, save them. Many users keep a note with their go-to prompts for end-of-week billing, monthly retainer runs, and overdue follow-ups.
