Getting Paid

Payment links, marking invoices paid, and tracking partial payments

There are three ways to record payment on an invoice in AgentInvoice.

If you've connected Stripe or Spiffy, each sent invoice includes a Pay Now button. When your client clicks it, they're taken to a hosted payment page to enter their card details.

Once the client completes payment:

  • The invoice status automatically updates to Paid
  • The payment date is recorded
  • You receive an email notification

No manual action is needed on your end.

2. Manual payment

If you received payment outside the platform — bank transfer, cash, check, or another method — you can manually record it in AgentInvoice.

Open the invoice and click Mark as paid. The invoice status updates to Paid with today's date.

3. Partial payments

If a client pays part of the invoice and owes the rest, you can record each payment separately.

Open the invoice and click Record payment. Enter the amount received. AgentInvoice tracks the running balance and shows how much remains outstanding. The invoice stays in Sent or Overdue status until the full amount is covered.

Once the full amount is paid, the invoice automatically moves to Paid.

Viewing payment history

Each invoice shows a payment history log with the date, amount, and payment method for every recorded payment. This is useful for invoices with multiple partial payments.
