Sending Invoices
Finalize and send an invoice to your client
Finalization
Before you can send an invoice, you need to finalize it. Finalization locks the invoice amounts so they can't be accidentally changed after the client has received it.
To finalize, open the invoice and click Finalize. The status changes from Draft to Finalized.
If you need to make changes after finalizing, void the invoice and create a new one.
Sending the invoice
With the invoice finalized, click Send invoice. AgentInvoice sends an email to your client with:
- A summary of the invoice (client name, amount due, due date)
- A link to view the invoice online
- A Pay Now button if you have a payment method connected
The invoice status changes to Sent.
What the client receives
Your client gets an email with a link to a hosted invoice page. From there they can:
- View all line items and totals
- See the due date
- Download a PDF copy
- Click Pay Now to pay online (if Stripe or Spiffy is connected)
The invoice page doesn't require the client to create an account.
Resending an invoice
If your client says they didn't receive the email, or you want to send a follow-up, open the invoice and click Resend. The client will receive the same email again.
PDF download
You and your client can both download a PDF of the invoice at any time. The PDF includes your company logo, all line items, totals, and any notes you added.
